Let’s take a moment to congratulate our Co-Founder and Vice President, Thomas Silvera, on receiving this incredible honor from the Social Health Network.
I am truly humbled and honored to receive this award, and I want to express my deepest gratitude to the Social Health Network for recognizing the mission and advocacy work behind the Elijah Alavi Foundation. This recognition reflects the unwavering commitment of our foundation since its inception, advocating for stronger legislation to protect children, creating safer childcare environments, working hand in hand with organizations, and industry leaders, partnering with leading researchers, and building resilient community networks that uplift families. But above all, it represents the collective spirit that fuels this mission. Every step forward has been made possible because families, advocates, healthcare professionals, educators, legislators, and community members have stood together, united in the belief that every child deserves safety, equity, and the opportunity to thrive.
This honor is not mine alone, it belongs to all of us. It belongs to the parents who refuse to stop advocating for their children, to the leaders who open doors for systemic change, to the researchers who push for better solutions, and to the communities that continue to rise in support. Together we are community, and together we transform loss into legacy, pain into purpose, and advocacy into lasting impact.
Most importantly, this moment carries Elijah’s legacy forward. It is a reminder of why we do what we do, to ensure that no child is ever forgotten, and every child has the chance to thrive in safety and in health.
