On August 24th, 2025, the Elijah-Alavi Foundation, in partnership with the @nycsigmas chapter of phi beta sigma fraternity, inc. and @whynotcaremore A district 1 united festival for the 9th annual back-to-school united festival at ps 142, nyc.

At this powerful community event, 1,000 free backpacks filled with school supplies, resources, and encouragement were distributed to students and families, ensuring every child could step into the new school year prepared and supported. 🎒✏️📚

This event was about far more than giving out backpacks. It was about building connections, providing critical resources, and addressing real community needs. Families not only received supplies, but also gained access to healthcare partners, businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations offering education, outreach, and support to strengthen both their present and future. 🙌
