Elijah-Alavi Foundation Celebrates First Annual “Each One Teach One: How to Save a Life” Event
NEW YORK, NY -September 2026
The Elijah-Alavi Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped make its inaugural Each One Teach One: How to Save a Life event a meaningful day of education, preparedness, connection, and community.
Held in partnership with Good Rhythm CPR, Assemblymember Al Taylor, Denny Farrell Riverbank State Park, and Rho Epsilon Sigma NYC, the first annual event brought together community members, childcare professionals, families, instructors, first responders, advocates, and supporters with one shared goal: to help people become better prepared to respond when seconds matter.
The event was built around a simple but powerful philosophy: Each One Teach One. When one person learns a lifesaving skill, that knowledge can be passed on to another person. When more people understand how to recognize an emergency, respond appropriately, and use lifesaving tools, communities become better prepared to protect one another. Throughout the day, participants had opportunities to learn hands-on CPR and emergency response skills, discuss anaphylaxis and food allergy preparedness, become familiar with epinephrine delivery devices, and engage with professionals and organizations working to strengthen emergency preparedness.
For the Elijah-Alavi Foundation, the event represented more than the launch of a new annual program. It reflected the Foundation’s broader mission of turning awareness into action and ensuring that education, preparedness, and access to lifesaving resources reach the communities that need them.
A Community Effort

Turning Awareness Into Action
The Elijah-Alavi Foundation believes that having policies and guidance in place is only part of preparedness. People must also understand those policies, know what to do during an emergency, and have the appropriate tools readily available when seconds matter. That is why education remains at the heart of the Foundation’s work.
“One person learns. One person teaches. Together, we can help save a life.” That message was at the center of the inaugural Each One Teach One event and will continue to guide the program moving forward.
Looking Ahead to Year Two
The Elijah-Alavi Foundation is already beginning preparations for its Second Annual Each One Teach One: How to Save a Life event in 2027. Following the tremendous community response to the inaugural event, the Foundation hopes to expand the program, reach more community members, bring together additional partners, and provide even more opportunities for hands-on education and lifesaving preparedness.
